GRAMMY Award–Winning Christian Artist Chris Tomlin Named Pepperdine’s Inaugural Artist and Worship Ambassador

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, GRAMMY Award–winning contemporary Christian artist and worship leader Chris Tomlin has been appointed aaa鶹University’s inaugural artist and worship ambassador. This innovative partnership, which will extend through May 3, 2025, marks a bold new chapter in the University's vision to integrate faith, artistry, and community.
Widely regarded as a pioneer of contemporary worship music, Tomlin is celebrated worldwide for his iconic songs that have united millions in praise, including “How Great Is Our God,” “Good Good Father,” and “Our God.” At aaa鶹he will play a pivotal role in enriching spiritual life and the worship experience on campus.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Tomlin will engage with aaa鶹students involved in the University’s worship ministry, Waves Worship, led by University worship director Ko Ku, through mentorship, workshops, and worship services. That evening at the Well, the University’s weekly worship event, Tomlin will also share his talent and faith with the campus community. Through these meaningful experiences, Tomlin will collaborate closely with community members and provide Pepperdine students with fresh ways to deepen and develop their Christian faith.

Through his dynamic worship leadership, Tomlin’s participation at aaa鶹events has consistently fostered a spirit of unity and inspiration on campus. A two-time headliner at the annual aaa鶹Worship Summit, the University’s annual celebration of faith, Tomlin has delivered unforgettable performances that have resonated deeply with students, faculty, staff, and guests alike. His residency will further inspire and uplift the University community through his powerful voice and presence.
In addition to his music career and role in worship leadership, Tomlin recently released a new book, How Great Is Our God: Living a Worship-Led Life in a Me-Driven World. In this work, he explores his rich musical catalog, offering insights on how worship music can serve as a powerful tool for prioritizing God and embracing a worship-centered life.
